The Cowan Clan in the Smokies Day 2!

Day 2 found the Cowan Clan at the Creation Museum!

When you first walk in they have a giant green screen set up to do family pictures. Yes, I'm really feeling the need to have a green screen now. :-)

They take one serious picture...

And one silly picture.

Then I took a picture of everyone to send to our friends that made our trip to the museum possible. (See previous post)

Ken Ham was there so we were able to sit in on a kid session that He and Buddy Davis did together.

Leah loved all of the displays. She doesn't remember us doing a lot of museums and things like that in the past. She was either too little before or not in existance yet. ;-)

Down one of the hallways we saw this door. Leah looks at it. Looks at me. and then poses in front of it with as serious a face as I've ever seen.

are you scared?!!!

At the ark display they had these little screens set up where you can help Noah build the ark by answering questions. Leah thought that was neat.

Next up, the three little girls were ecstatic about getting to ride on CAMELS!

The gardens were beautiful! I settled with only posting a couple of flower pictures! ;-)

The girls enjoyed going all of the different bridges in the garden.

After we were done at the Museum Dad surprised us all by taking us to Mom's favortie restaurant!

Yes, the food was INCREDIBLE!!!!

That's it for Day 2! I can't wait to see what Day 3 holds!

The Cowan Clan in the Smokies Day 1!

Because of our trip I'm skipping Inspiration Monday so I can blog about our trip! So here is The Cowan Clan in the Smokies Day 1! Sunday, August 28th

We were up early and were heading out the door when... ZOOM! Out flies my dog running down the street! ( This was after his previous two attempts to come with us in the van this morning already!) After driving around and getting him back home we try to again leave the house. This time we made it 10 minutes down the road before someone realize they had left something very important behind. So we turned around and headed home again. Right about now Leah, my youngest sister looks out her window and says "LOOK! The sky is turning all purply!" Victoria tells her "Leah, it's called a sunrise" I thought that was pretty funny. Apparently Leah doesn't remember being awake for any other sunrises. :-)

Finally at 0630 we left the house on our WAY!!!! Or so we thought.... Two and a half hours down the road the van shut off as we were driving on I 70 east. We pulled over to the side of the road. Stranded. We started praying and tried calling road side assistance they couldn't find anyone near by that could tow us or help us with the van. Some very gracious friends decided to be God's blessing to us in such a huge way and sent two of their sons with their 12 passenger van to come help us from TWO and a half HOURS AWAY! We were able to get the van to start and drove to a gas station to sit and await their arrival, as the van still wouldn't run right.

Here we are at the gas station as we await the arrival of our rescuers.

We decided to get something to drink and were happy to see the gas station had what has become one of our favorite drinks lately! This lemonade is really good!

Some of the girls decided to get rid of some random energy by challenging Shelby to a game of tag... Needless to say, they didn't stand a chance. However, they did burn some great energy.

The arrival of Jesse

and John! These two gave up so much of their time, and energy to inconvenience themselves in order to help us. John replaced the fuel filter and then decided to drive behind us for 30 minutes to see if the van would run now. Sure enough, after pulling onto the highway for a few minutes the van started driving odd and as we got off the highway it started to die on us again.

Here is what I call going above and beyond graciousness. This sweet family now proceeded to encourage us to abandon the boys with our van, move all of our stuff into their van and continue on our way. We feel incredibly loved, blessed, and humbled by all of their generosity and efforts on our behalf. Truly they showed the love of Christ to us.

This is truly the Cowan clans favorite drink! We ate chicken salad for dinner that I had made before we left and drank snapple! Making it a great quick meal, which was nice considering how much time we had lost.

We kicked back and relaxed and drove to our hotel in Florence, KY. Praising God for our safe arrival. Thanks to our amazing friends we made it and were able to spend today at the Creation Museum... which will be the blog post for tomorrow! :-)

Philipians 4:19-20 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Fatherbe glory forever and ever. Amen.

Today was a great example of God supplying more than all of our needs!

Catch Day 2 tomorrow!

Andrea's 9 Month Baby Portraits by Memorycatcher Photography

Little Andrea is 9 months old already! Here are just a few of my favorites from this weeks shoot. I can't believe how big she has gotten! She is a precious little bundle that is for sure!

Standing up! She is going to be running about her brothers in NO TIME!

This one seriously cracks me up so I had to include it for you all to see! :-)

Okay, that's all I have for now. I'm hoping to have interenet next week while on vacation so that I can update the blog... but we shall see! :-) If not, I'll have lots of posts for when I return!

One proud Aunt,

It's the little things! Razzle Dazzle!

It's time for a new it's the little things. Most of my friends are already aware that this is one of my "little things" I'm supposed to be staying away from sugar which probably makes this delicous treat even better, because it is so rare that I get to have it. This amazing treat is called a Razzle Dazzle. Yes, it has the ability to make my eyes sparkle, my hands clap, and my tongue tingle in anticipation! *Not to mention a happy dance if no one is looking. ;-) If you have never had one I strongly recommend fixing that problem as soon as possible if you live near a Sheridan's! If you don't live near one... Just come visit me. Lots of my guests can tell you that trips to Sheridan's are a must when I have company! :-)

Good Night!

Kristina

Monday Inspiration From Memorycatcher Photography

Good MORNING! Yes, It is time for Monday Inspiration! Today I went with the beauty of creation and how it points to an ever present and wonderful creator. How can we look at the works of His hands and yet deny that He is indeed ruler of all?!

Whenever you feel like God is far from you, take the time to see Him in the little things you see without noticing everyday. His evidence, and presence is there.

Happy Monday!

Jacob's Senior Pictures by Memorycatcher Photography

This was an amazing shoot filled with seriousness, laughter, weird looks, and yes... tons more laughter! :-) We did two different settings and then one standard studio shot, but most of all I think we just plain flat had a bunch of fun. A HUGE thank you to Tommy for giving Jacob the shirt off your back and for the jacket loan... This shoot would not have been the same without you! ;-) Thank you Jacob for allowing me to take your pictures. I had such a hard time picking out only 10 images for the blog! As you can tell by my choices... I loved the images of you with your guitar!

Jacob is an amazing young man with a heart for Christ. I had so much fun reconnecting with him and seeing how much he has grown. Sitting at Weston and taking pictures while you played and sang with your guitar was amazing! Don't be a stranger!

Until next time,

Kristina
