Inspiration Monday!

Good Morning everyone! Yes, it's Monday again! :-) I know everyone is bustling around accomplishing all sorts of to do lists that they having going to start their week.... If you are reading this, I'm glad you took time away to be Inspired this morning.

I like this reminder of the grace and glory that is mine through Christ. I love the thought of the Lord being my SUN! (by the way, It is really nice to see the sun this morning), but I especially LOVE the aspect of God being my shield. It gives me strength and courage as I face daily challenges throughout this upcoming week!

Until next time!

Monday Inspiration From Memorycatcher Photography-Faithfulness

Today I am overwhelmed with God's great Faithfulness to me. You see last week my health went downhill and I couldn't figure out why... I was upset as I was heading out of town to shoot a wedding, and I needed to be able to function. I arrived and felt AWFUL I only slept for 1 hour woke up feeling horrid. AS I lay awake and tried to figure out why this was happening I kept being brought back to this sentence "You know better than I, Lord you know the way, I'm letting go the need to know why, cause you know better than I" My Mom is brilliant and realized I was having a bad reaction to a new medication I am on. I decided to not take that medication, and get up and go for the wedding relying on God's faithfulness to get me through. He answered above and beyond my needs showing me He is in control and He cares for me, and is faithful even in the little things.

Whay about you? Has God shown great Faithfulness to you? Are you treasuring that Faithfulnes, or is it taken for granted, are you relying on His grace daily, resting in Him? Feel free to comment and share a time where God showed His Faithfulness to you! You never know who may be touched by your sharing!

Until next time!

Black Bears In TN!

Okay, I know you have all been waiting on a post with pictures of our dark mysterious visitor that kept coming to our cabin... So here are some.

The night before we left we were all sitting in the living room of our cabin when we hear a BANG we looked at each other yelled BEAR and rushed to go take a look. Sure enough there was a bear running away from our trash bin. So we rushed onto our balcony out back to see if we could see him. Here is what we saw. :-)

We watched the trees for a long time it was really dark by the time he came back out of the trees. Here is a picture of him standing directly below our balcony.
The next morning, Dad opened the door to try and get us in the van and there was our bear standing right in front of the door.... I don't think I've ever seen my Dad shut a door so fast in his life. He was slightly stunned by our visitor. So... We alll rushed back onto the balcony hoping for better pictures since there was a little bit more light now. :-)

Here, I was feeling slightly vulnerable and decided not to stay on the bottom balcony this close to him... Then we scared him away so we could get in our van and leave.

We all loved getting to see "our" bear though. :-)

I hope you've enjoyed the posts from our trip! This was the last one!

The Cowan Clan in the Smokies Day 6!

Day 6 brings us to my favorite day of the trip. I happen to love sunrises. There is just something majestically wonderful about watching the Lord paint the sky as the day awakens. It never fails to inspire me and to help me feel so close to my Saviour. I had been hoping that it would work out this vacatioin for me to fit in a sun rise hike, and it was made possible. Thanks to my awesome family and friends being willing to get up and go at an incredibly early time. Thank you everyone!

At first their was just a light fog as the first touch of color started to fill the sky, but then the fog rolled in for a while and covered everything. Giving us some very different looks as the sun rose.

It may not have been everyone else's first choice of things to do for the day, but I think everyone ended up enjoying it.

My amazing parents. My Dad was awesome and carried my backpack up the steep hike so that I could make it all the way. :-)

A man offered to take a group picture for us so here is what we have.

As I started back down the trail I looked back and this is what I saw. So... I took a picture. :-)

Next up was a brief breakfast stop and then another short hike to a waterfall.

At the waterfall I got to explain why I use tripods, and just how amazing having a slow shutter speed at a waterfall is. :-)

Then people went back to nap/play games. I mostly napped... but somehow got roped into playing Cities and Knights. We also played tons of Cowan Marbles. :-)

Next post I think is the one on dark mysterious strangers showing up at our cabin.

Until then!

The Cowan Clan in the Smokies Day 5!

Day 5 has us touring Gatlinburg, TN; eating ice cream, snow cones, and PIZZA!

Everyone enjoyed window shopping, the kids really liked peeking through the candy store to watch them make Taffy.

The way this little area was situated reminded me of living in Germany.

Justin and Leah loved looking in the fountain. I think they really enjoyed playing with each other this week. :-)

James was a good sport and let me take his picture.

Everyone chose different cool snacks when we took a break because everyone was so HOT! snow cones, ice cream, and smoothies... all were good.

For dinner we stopped at Mellow Mushroom Pizza, they even had Gluten Free Pizza!

Our waiter was really nice and offered to take the above picture of all of us.

Next blog is going to be us watching the sunrise! You won't want to miss it! :-)

Until next post!

Day 4, we made Mom's trip by running into a Momma bear and her two little cubs.

Cute little cub!

Time for lunch and playing in the creek!

Leah made walking on the tree across the creek look so easy!

More to come on Day 5! Day 6 has been pretty spectacular so far! I can't wait to show you Day 6!
