It's the little things!

I thought it was time for a new "It's the little things" post. I don't know about you.... but for me this is a HUGE ONE! I REALLY stink at getting Thank You cards out... I'm even worse at writting snail mail letters to people... However, I LOVE to get them in the mail! It was certainly a highlight in my week when my Dad came home with this letter from the mail box for ME! There is just something about opening a letter that someone took the time to hand write just for ME! Makes me feel all special! :-) This Thank You note even had a picture inside just for me! SUCH a GREAT TOUCH! :-) If this is one of your "little things" in life too, leave a comment to let me know! I'd love to hear from you!

Friday is TOMORROW!

Inspiration Monday

Yes, it is MONDAY AGAIN! Since this one followed Easter I wanted to share a little bit of my great love of Easter with all of you! I truly love this verse and how clearly it shows the worth Christ sees in me, and put in me. I hope it encourages all of you as well!

I also wanted to share this legend... even if it is just a legend it fit right in with my image for today, so I thought it might be enjoyable.

The Legend Of The Dogwood Tree

As a child I heard this tale.Long ago during the days that Jesuswas here on earth in the form of manthere were many dogwood trees The dogwood was comparable insize to the oak tree and other monarchs of the forest. Because of its firmness and strength it was selected as the timber for the cross, but to be put to such a cruel use distressed the tree Sensing this, the crucified Jesus in his gentle pity for the sorrow and suffering of all said to it: "Because of your sorrow and pity for My sufferings, never again will the dogwood tree grow large enough to be used as a cross Henceforth it will be slender bent and twisted and its blossoms will be in the form of a cross two long and two short petals. In the center of the outer edge of each petal there will be nail prints brown with rust and stained with red and in the center of the flower will be a crown of thorns, and all who see this will remember."

Happy Monday!

Inspiration Mondays!

Yes, it's Monday again. Time to be inspired for the start of a new week.

This image was taken at Yellowstone in 2010

Not only does Christ light up our path, but He guides us along the way. God knows our weaknesses and our failings, and is so patient to guide us along. Too often I allow myself to become discouraged or overwhelmed by how far I have to go, when all He wants is for me to start one step at a time, with Him by my side. We are not alone! How inspiring is THAT to start the week with?!

Happy Monday!

Heather

My friend Heather, whom I lived near at both Ft. Meade, MD and Yongsan, Korea is here visiting and looking for a house so she can move here! I am very excited about this. She has also started a new blog The Morning Meal. This is a blog on her thoughts of what God has been showing her through scriptures. We decided to do a photo shoot so that she would have the perfect profile picture for her blog. Here are a few of the favorites Feel free to vote on the one you think looks the best!

The little things

It is the little things in life.... the things that bring a smile to your face and makes you want to skip. Pizza has always been one of my "little things" and has been one of the things I've missed the most since changing to a gluten-free diet. Well, I missed it until I discovered the awesomness that is Neopolitan SPIN Pizza! Discovering that they sell Gluten free Pizza and that it is AMAZING was sooo exciting! Today I spent the day shopping in Overland Park with my amazing Mom and two of my great sisters. My sweet Mother treated us to SPIN pizza... Needless to say, it was a GREAT day! Feel free to share what some of your "little things" are with me!

Happy Wednesday!

Inspiration Mondays!

I don't know about you... but for ME Mondays are "get busy and catch up on stuff" days. They tend to be full of me conquering tons of little tasks that have piled up over the weekend, and they can be overwhelming.

So, I was sitting down, drinking a fantastic cup of Chai this weekend and thinking about what inspires me and how I could use that to make Mondays better. I felt like Pooh Bear ( Yes, I am a huge fan of his still) sitting there rubbing my forehead "think, think, think". I thought, well, the top two things that inspire me are God, and images... So I've decided to put the two together for the purpose of what I am calling Inspiration Mondays, I will be trying to post a new one every Monday! I hope that they brighten your week, because I know that my Monday is already looking better! ;-)

In the craziness that is Monday I felt this was a very good reminder to start with, not to mention Mt. Cook, New Zealand is always inspiring to me! This image was taken in 2008 on my IPS PhotoEX trip.
Happy Monday Y'all!

SPRING IS HERE!

We awoke to a BEAUTIFUL, spring day here in Leavenworth, KS. We decided to celebrate the good weather by, going to Weston State Park, with Seth, Lindsay, and their crew. :-) We had an amazing day filled with TONS of goodness. :-) Here are a few moments from our day.

Shelby was so awesome and made me an excellent cup of coffee to take with me in the car.... YES, it is still coffee no matter how much cream and sugar I put in it. :-) We arrived before Seth and Lindsay so we decided to take a trip to the "scenic" overlook. I will say the compared to other scenic overlooks that I have been to in Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland, Austria, Colorado... and soooo many other amazing places that it left a lot to be desired. :-)
I decided that mom should take a picture of us girls! Didn't she do a great job?!

My wonderful parents! Yes, they have jackets on because it was a little chilly this morning, but it warmed up nicely!

Now, Shelby really is NOT a woodsy person. Those of you that know her... well, you know just how true that statement is. I almost gave her a heart attack making her stand there for a picture.

PLAYGROUND TIME!!

Thanks again to Mom for a photo job well done!

Scenic overlook, take two! Now that the rest of the crew was here we went back so the little ones could see.

LUNCH TIME!!! It had been soooo long since I had eaten a pickle.... Man, oh man were they GOOD!! I can almost taste it now!

Yes, even with all of our thoughtful planning we forgot a spatula! So we used the ice scraper from the car.. HEY! It worked! :-)

After lunch we took the boys home for a nap, then when they got up we headed out to play volleyball, which sadly there are no pictures of, but it was amazing being outside in the sand with the sun on our faces!

Yes, it was a GREAT day! I hope there are many more days like this in the year!

I hope you all enjoyed your Saturday!
