Inspiration Monday
The Legend Of The Dogwood Tree
As a child I heard this tale.Long ago during the days that Jesuswas here on earth in the form of manthere were many dogwood trees The dogwood was comparable insize to the oak tree and other monarchs of the forest. Because of its firmness and strength it was selected as the timber for the cross, but to be put to such a cruel use distressed the tree Sensing this, the crucified Jesus in his gentle pity for the sorrow and suffering of all said to it: "Because of your sorrow and pity for My sufferings, never again will the dogwood tree grow large enough to be used as a cross Henceforth it will be slender bent and twisted and its blossoms will be in the form of a cross two long and two short petals. In the center of the outer edge of each petal there will be nail prints brown with rust and stained with red and in the center of the flower will be a crown of thorns, and all who see this will remember."

Inspiration Mondays!
Not only does Christ light up our path, but He guides us along the way. God knows our weaknesses and our failings, and is so patient to guide us along. Too often I allow myself to become discouraged or overwhelmed by how far I have to go, when all He wants is for me to start one step at a time, with Him by my side. We are not alone! How inspiring is THAT to start the week with?! Sunday, April 17, 2011

Inspiration Mondays!

SPRING IS HERE!
Shelby was so awesome and made me an excellent cup of coffee to take with me in the car.... YES, it is still coffee no matter how much cream and sugar I put in it. :-)
We arrived before Seth and Lindsay so we decided to take a trip to the "scenic" overlook. I will say the compared to other scenic overlooks that I have been to in Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland, Austria, Colorado... and soooo many other amazing places that it left a lot to be desired. :-)
My wonderful parents! Yes, they have jackets on because it was a little chilly this morning, but it warmed up nicely!
Now, Shelby really is NOT a woodsy person. Those of you that know her... well, you know just how true that statement is. I almost gave her a heart attack making her stand there for a picture.
Scenic overlook, take two! Now that the rest of the crew was here we went back so the little ones could see.
LUNCH TIME!!! It had been soooo long since I had eaten a pickle.... Man, oh man were they GOOD!! I can almost taste it now!
Yes, even with all of our thoughtful planning we forgot a spatula! So we used the ice scraper from the car.. HEY! It worked! :-)
