February Chill...

Yes, I was hoping that winter was gone.... Yesterday showed me that winter was indeed still with us. It's ok, I only have 10 days left till my trip to TEXAS! It should be a LOT warmer there!
Anyway, since I haven't posted many snow pictures this winter I thought I would show you what Leavenworth, KS looks like today.

If it's warm where you are, consider yourself blessed! If it's cold where you are... I'm right there with you, stay warm!

Happy Friday!

Duckworth Family

Saturday morning I had a delightful family portrait shoot at the Leavenworth Landing. This boy knew his trains let me tell you! It was fun to listen to him rattle on and on about the trains. It is fun when kids let you into their little world. Anyway, I thought you all might like to see some of the portraits that we did. So here are a few of my favorites.

His little red umbrella kept making me think, "tut, tut, looks like rain!" Yes, I grew up on Winnie the Pooh. :-)

I hope you enjoyed the peek into my latest shoot.

Happy Monday!

A Sweetheart for Valentine's Day!

I've decided that this little sweetheart is worthy of a Valentine's Day blog post. :-) Maybe because she has come and swept my whole family's hearts away with her this year. Yes, this is my little neice who is now three months old. Please enjoy these baby portraits!

Yes, her mommy made the sweet bows in the photos. This little sweetheart has an extremely talented mommy. I always knew Lindsay was going to make an awesome mommy!

I super loved this one of her. Her eyes are soooooo blue! :-)

Andrea is thinking... "Okay Aunt K, I'm all tuckered out, so stop pointing that camera at me!"

I hope you are having a GREAT Valentine's Day!

In Loving Memory of Kodak

One of our family dogs, Kodak, passed away this week. I wanted to post a few pictures of Kodak and his life with us. Most of the following images were taken when He first arrived (before I was a photographer). So I apologize in advance for the poor quality.

Kodak traveled around D.C. with us in the wagon with little Leah. :-)

Unlike my dog, Archie, Kodak wasn't really a fan of the snow.
Obedience training classes finally over we made it through them. :-)

BUDDIES! :-) I think my dog is missing his playmate.

Kodak loved Joanna very much and she took such great care of him.

We could never get Kodak to play with any dog toys, but he LOVED this shoe. He would jump around with it, chase it, play tug-a-war with it.... He LOVED it! :-)
We are sad that he is gone, but we were blessed to have him and we are glad that he is not suffering.

Cowgirl MOLLY!

I had a very fun studio shoot with this sweet little girl. Growing up I had a red pair of boots that I just LOVED playing with... So it was a ton of fun to photograph a little girl who also deeply loved her boots. Of course she assured me that pink boots and her hat were MUCH better then red. :-)

SNOW!

I was at my sister's house when KS was finally pounded with snow. Lindsay and I bundled the boys up so they could go outside to play with their Dad! :-) I knew the boys wouldn't last long in the cold snow, so instead of taking the time to bundle myself up... I grabbed my camera threw on a pair of shoes and rushed outside to capture their time outside! (No, I didn't even grab a coat... crazy photographer!) Below are a few of the highlights.
Houston was NOT sure about all the snow and did NOT want to brave it. So he spent a LOT of time standing there like this. :-)

The one time he braved facing the snow.... He did just that, he fell face down in the snow. Poor little fella!

That's okay, helping Dad makes it ALL better!

Jackson on the other hand, couldn't get enough of the snow on him to make him happy.

I'm still not sure what all the laying in the snow was all about, but he sure did have FUN!
